UWELL Caliburn G3 Lite Review 2025

Hey friends! Let’s talk about the UWELL Caliburn G3 Lite. UWELL changed the vaping game with the original Caliburn in 2019, setting a new standard for pod systems. Since then, they have given us many amazing upgrades. So, can the new Caliburn G3 Lite live up to these high expectations?

Before we get into the details, let’s understand what the G3 Lite is all about. This device is super simple and user-friendly, which makes it perfect for beginners and those who love disposable vapes. The packaging is basic, just like a disposable and it does not come with extra stuff like a USB cable or spare pod. Interestingly, UWELL also launched their pre-filled pod line with the G3 Lite, making it even more appealing for disposable users.

But do not be fooled by its simplicity—the UWELL Caliburn G3 Lite is a great device that vapers of all experience levels can enjoy. It is more than just the basics so keep reading to find out why.

Vape Design

The Caliburn G3 Lite really lives up to its name. It is super light, weighing just 46 grams, which is amazing since it has a 1200 mAh battery. The whole body is made of strong plastic, except for a thin metal band near the top. Every edge is nicely rounded so it feels comfortable in both your hand and pocket. The small texture on the front and back makes it even better to hold.

When I first held it, I immediately thought of the UWELL Popreel N1. That one was also made of textured plastic and had very few features but it was really light and affordable. The Caliburn G3 Lite seems similar, even though it is a bigger device.

One feature that should not be overlooked is the e-liquid viewing window at the top. It is a great design that contours the wide body of the device to the much narrower pod, which might have looked awkward otherwise. It lets you see the entire pod and the e-liquid level, even though it is lightly tinted.

Though the plastic body feels sturdy, the viewing window might be a weak point if the device is dropped onto a hard surface. It seems more likely to crack or chip compared to the rest of the body.

Caliburn G3 Pods

Many people already know about the Caliburn G3 pods (GPP) because they are used in the GK3, GK3 Tenet, G3, and G3 ECO. If you haven’t tried those devices, here is a quick summary.

Most GPP pods have a side-fill plug and hold 2.5 mL of e-liquid, while the TPD versions have a top-fill design with 2 mL capacity. Like other Caliburn pods, the GPP pods use PRO-FOCS coil technology and have an anti-leak design.

They use ultrasonic welding to seal the pods and have a U-shaped channel at the bottom to collect condensation. Based on my experience, this works well—I have not seen any leaking or weeping from the bottom.

Using Guide

Using the UWELL Caliburn G3 Lite is really easy. Just unplug the tab on the side of the pod to fill it (if it is a new pod, let the coil soak for five minutes). After that, just pop the pod into the device and inhale to vape. Sometimes the pods do not snap in perfectly at first but a little press will fix that.

There is no airflow control switch on the device but you can adjust the airflow by flipping the pod. Turn it one way for a tighter draw and the other way to loosen it up.

Vape Performance

UWELL Caliburn G3 Lite

The airflow on the G3 Lite ranges from medium mouth-to-lung (MTL) to tight restricted direct lung (RDL), which is pretty standard for the Caliburn series. No matter how you use it, the airflow is smooth. The auto-draw feature might not be as quick as other devices but it works well for me. If you inhale gently, you might notice a bit of stuttering.

The kit comes with a single 0.6-ohm G3 pod, which I filled with my favorite MTL e-liquid (50VG). These pods are great! The flavor is fantastic. I used to love the Caliburn A2, but the G3 pods are even better and don’t leak much.

UWELL really knows how to make coils and pods and they keep getting better. I noticed a slight flavor drop after using about 19 mL of e-liquid, but it was not enough to stop using the pod. I plan to use it a bit longer.

Caliburn G3 Prefilled Pods

This is where it gets interesting. Along with the refillable pods, UWELL is also introducing prefilled pods for the Caliburn G3 devices. They did something similar with the Yearn a few years ago. It is a smart move, especially since the G3 Lite seems aimed at the disposable market. Users can choose between refillable or prefilled pods. They would not be available everywhere due to regulations but it is a great option for some.

The G3 prefilled pods have 0.9-ohm coils, 20 mg nicotine salt e-liquid and come in packs of two. There are ten flavors available:

  • Blue Razz Lemonade
  • Cherry Ice
  • Watermelon Ice
  • Pineapple Ice
  • Pink Lemonade
  • Strawberry Ice
  • Blueberry Sour Raspberry
  • Cherry Cola
  • Lemon & Lime
  • Watermelon Strawberry Bubble Gum

I did not expect much from these flavors but I was very wrong. These prefilled pods are very impressive. My favorites are Pineapple Ice, Watermelon Ice, and Pink Lemonade. They are sweet which I think most disposable users will like.

While the flavors are great there are a couple of drawbacks. The pods only hold 2.5 mL of e-liquid which makes it hard for them to compete with modern disposables. The 2 mL TPD versions might do better in the EU. Also, the pods are not transparent so you can not see how much e-liquid is left. You have to pay close attention to avoid a burnt hit. Clear pods like the refillable ones, would be a big improvement.

About Battery Life

One cool thing about the UWELL Caliburn G3 Lite is its 1200 mAh battery. That is the biggest battery of any Caliburn. I used about 6.5 mL of e-liquid per charge which can last some users a day or more depending on how much they vape.

The Caliburn G3 Lite charges with a side-mounted USB-C port. UWELL has not listed the exact charging rate, but it’s slow. Using a 2A charger, it took 101 minutes to fully charge the battery.

A small LED light shows the charging status; it breathes while charging and stays lit when done. It also shows the current battery level when vaping:

  • Green – 60 to 100%
  • Blue – 30 to 60%
  • Red – 0 to 30%

Last Words

The UWELL Caliburn G3 Lite is surprising. It is mostly made of plastic, has few features, and costs less than most disposables, yet the vape experience is amazing. It is like a low-budget indie film that wins an Oscar this little pod is much better than you thought.

There are only two major downsides. Even though the battery is big enough to last some users a day, charging is slow. Also, the lack of a spare pod is disappointing. UWELL wants this kit to be affordable so they left out the extra pod and USB cable. However, I still think every pod system should come with two pods just in case one is faulty.

Still, the Caliburn G3 Lite is a great device. Beginners and users who want to switch from disposables to refillable kits should start here. Even experienced users will like the G3 Lite. In the end, it is a great holder for the G3 (GPP) pods which are reliable and tasty. It is rare to find a vape this good at such a low price.
