UWELL Caliburn X Review 2025

The UWELL Caliburn X is a very cool gadget in one of the most popular lines of pod vapes. Since the original Caliburn came out in 2019, UWELL has split the line into different groups, each with unique features. The A line is perfect for beginners, the G line offers more advanced options and there is also the KOKO line, which comes in a totally different shape.

The Caliburn X introduces a new group into the mix. It is a bit bigger and has some exciting new features. For the first time, there is an OLED screen and you can adjust the wattage to your liking. It also has a larger battery (850 mAh) and can hold more vape liquid (3 mL). What has not changed are the coils; the Caliburn X uses the same coils as the Caliburn G, giving you three options to choose from.

UWELL Caliburn X

The Caliburn X pod kit by Uwell is a cool gadget with lots of features. It has a strong 850mAh battery built inside. You can change the power from 5W to 20W, but 20W is the maximum. The body is made of aluminum so it can handle a few bumps and drops without breaking. With special flavor technology called Pro-FOCS, you get a smooth and tasty vape every time because it keeps the flavor just right.

The Caliburn X uses a special pod that can hold 3ml of vape liquid. This pod works with G/G2 series coils. Refilling is easy and mess-free because of the top-fill port. You can easily change the coils with Press-Fit Coil installation. The pod also has a window so you can see how much juice is left, preventing those annoying dry hits.

The Caliburn X pod system has a button to start vaping, making it simple to use. An OLED screen shows all the important info about your vaping. Plus, it has many safety features to ensure everything works smoothly. You can choose from various colors like Matte Black, Ribbon Red, Ink Blue, Lake Green, Lilac Purple, and Moonlight Silver.

Uwell Caliburn X Pod Kit Best Values

The Caliburn X Pod Kit has a compact size of 107.4mm x 27.5mm x 15.6mm and an 850mAh battery. It supports 5W-20W power, has a 3mL e-liquid capacity, and an OLED display. The kit uses G/G2 coils and features easy press-fit coil installation, a juice viewing window, and a Type-C charging port.

Vape Design

The Caliburn X is breaking the mold with its size of 107.4 mm x 27.5 mm x 15.6 mm. It is thicker than the older models but still a small and light vape. Even though the mouthpiece is thicker and fits well with the design, I still like the mouthpieces of the A2 or the original Caliburn better.

One of the coolest new things about the X is the black-and-white screen on the front. It shows information like charge, wattage, volts, resistance, and puffs in an easy-to-read font. This screen is the biggest change from the older Caliburn models. I think all future Caliburn X products will have screens, and maybe the next one, the X2, will even have a color screen!

The X feels very well-built. Most of it has a smooth matte finish, with a shiny panel around the button and screen that matches the pods. There is not much to complain about, except the airflow adjustment slider is a little loose and might move by accident sometimes.

Using Guide

The Caliburn X might be the fanciest one yet but it is actually really easy to use:

  • Put 4 to 5 drops of ejuice on the coil to get it ready.
  • Push the coil inside the pod (make sure the cutout under the pod lines up with the bottom of the coil).
  • Insert the pod into the battery.
  • Take off the mouthpiece by pushing its flat side.
  • Fill the pod with e-liquid (use the hole marked in red).
  • Wait five minutes to let the wick soak up the e-liquid.
  • Adjust the airflow using the slider.
  • Press the button or inhale on the mouthpiece to start vaping.

Here is how the buttons work:

  • Press the fire button five times to turn the vape device on or off.
  • Press the fire button three times to adjust the power (the power level will start blinking).
  • When the power is blinking, press the fire button to increase the power.
  • Press the fire button two times to lock or unlock the fire button (you can still use the auto-draw feature).

I do wish the power level would set itself automatically when you put in a new pod, like other devices do. I had to look up the power range for each coil every time, which was a bit annoying. But other than that, it is a pretty straightforward device and experienced vapers will find it easy to use.

Performance

UWELL Caliburn X

The Caliburn X uses the same coils as the Caliburn G and G2 so it works pretty much the same way. The main difference is that you can change the power levels on the X, which is a nice extra feature.

Overall, the G coils work great and last for about 20 to 25 mL of e-liquid. The Caliburn X comes with two types of coils: the 1.2-ohm coil (9-13 watts) and the 0.8-ohm coil (13-18 watts). The 1.2-ohm coil is good for mid-strength nicotine salt juice, while the 0.8-ohm coil works well with regular nicotine and lower-strength salts. You can even do some restricted direct lung (RDL) vaping if you open up the airflow, and these coils can handle up to 70VG liquid without any problems.

Some people have mentioned that the coils might leak a bit, but I didn’t notice anything unusual. I did a test with the G2 where I filled the device and left it alone for about five days, and there was no juice around the contacts. A drop or two might appear during regular use, but that is normal for pod vapes.

The auto-draw sensor is very sensitive so I stopped using the button altogether. I did get some errors with the atomizer but taking the pod out and putting it back in fixed the problem. The issue seemed to be with one specific 0.8-ohm coil, as the other coils worked just fine.

About Battery Life

The Caliburn X has an 850 mAh battery and uses Type-C to charge. I thought it might have a bigger battery like 1000 mAh because it is larger than the G2 (which has a 750 mAh battery), but it is still a big battery for a pod vape. Using the 1.2-ohm coil at 12 watts, I could use over 6 mL of juice before needing to recharge. The vape got a bit weak for the last mL but that is still a lot of battery life.

It takes about 52 minutes to fully charge, which is pretty fast for this size of battery. The device charges quickly at first and then slows down but that is just according to the charge bars on the screen and may not be exact. Still, anything under an hour is good enough. Also, the Caliburn X has passthrough charging so you can vape while it is charging.

Last Words

The Caliburn X is a great pod system with awesome coils. It has more features than most others, like a screen, adjustable airflow, and power settings. The battery actually lasts a long time and the vape device charges quickly too.

I would not recommend it as your first vape because there are simpler options like the Caliburn A2 or VAPORESSO LUXE QS that work just as well. But if you are not a beginner anymore and want to use the extra features, the Caliburn X is a good choice.

Have you tried the Caliburn X? What do you think about its new features? Let me know in the comments.
