Vape Design
The GEN AIR 40 is a small and compact vape that is bigger than basic pods like the Caliburn but smaller than a single battery kit. It weighs just 67 grams, making it super light, yet it feels solid and well-made.
This device comes in seven colors, with some featuring cool gradient effects. For example, there is a twilight gold option that blends gold at the top with purple at the bottom. The front and pods are black, while the rest is colored, making it stand out from other devices.

Using Guide
The GEN AIR 40 is super easy to use, even though mine did not come with a manual. To turn it on or off you can press the fire button 5 times. To change power levels, hold down the power adjustment button; the LED lights will show you the current level.
The adjustable airflow lets you choose between a loose mouth-to-lung (MTL) and a restricted direct-lung (DL) vape, and the pod pops in and out easily. However, the dark tint on the pod makes it hard to see the juice level, which can be a bit annoying. Despite this, I am very happy with the device.
Performance
This device uses the impressive GTX line of coils but not all GTX coils work with the GEN AIR 40. There are five compatible coils, and the package includes a 0.8-ohm mesh coil (12-16 watts) and a 0.4-ohm mesh coil (26-32 watts). Although I think all coils should work with all devices, their website clearly shows compatibility.
Testing with the 0.8-ohm coil, I used 20-24 mg nicotine salt juices and found the flavor great on low power. The coil life was impressive, lasting through 30 mL of juice. With the 0.4-ohm coil, using 3 mg juices, it performed well on high power, but I prefer a higher wattage for direct lung vaping. Overall, it is a good device for mouth-to-lung vaping with lower wattage coils.
About Battery Life
The battery life of the GEN AIR 40 is pretty impressive, especially with the 0.8-ohm coil on low power—it can easily last all day. It has an 1800 mAh battery that charges quickly in about 53 minutes through a bottom Type-C port. Although the battery might be slightly overrated, it’s still solid for a pod system. It also supports passthrough vaping, which means you can vape while it is charging.
The LED battery meter is well-designed, showing the battery level in four steps: one LED for 0-25%, two LEDs for 25-50%, three LEDs for 50-75%, and four LEDs for 75-100%. Overall, Vaporesso did really great job with this vape device.

VAPORESSO did a great job with this device! If you want a small, lightweight vape that lasts all day for mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping, you will be happy with the GEN AIR 40. It may not be perfect for direct-lung (DL) vaping at higher wattages, but it works well at 30 watts if that’s your preference. I think it really shines with the 0.8-ohm coil for low-wattage MTL vaping.
