Vaporesso LUXE XR Max Review 2025
The Vaporesso LUXE XR Max is here and it is the latest cool gadget for vaping. If you have been vaping for a while, you have probably heard of Vaporesso—they are known for making awesome stuff. The LUXE XR Max is a new and improved version of the LUXE XR that came out about six months ago.
This new device has a much bigger battery that can last for a long time with a power of 2800 mAh. It can go up to 80 watts, which means it can produce a lot of vapor. The pods can hold up to 5 mL of e-liquid, so you don’t have to refill them often. Plus, these pods work with the LUXE X and XR models.
One of the best parts is that the pods use replaceable coils from the GTX line which are powered by Vaporesso’s special COREX coil technology. This means you can expect great flavor and lots of clouds when you vape.
Vaporesso LUXE XR Max
The Vaporesso LUXE XR Max Pod Mod Kit is a newer version of the LUXE XR, made by Vaporesso. This kit has a big battery of 2800mAh, so it lasts a long time. It works in a power range of 5W to 40W and charges quickly with a USB Type-C cable.
It has a small screen (0.54-inch OLED) and two colorful lights. The screen is easy to use with touch buttons. In SMART mode, it can sense the coil and suggest the best settings so you do not burn the coil. The SSS-Leak-Resistant technology helps keep the e-liquid inside and prevents leaks.
Inside, it has an AXON chipset and works with 5ml LUXE XR Replacement Pods and GTX replaceable coils with COREX technology. The 0.2ohm GTX mesh coil (45W-60W) and 0.4ohm GTX mesh coil (26W-32W) are great for DTL vaping.
This kit can support both DTL and MTL vaping styles. You can change the airflow with a slider to enjoy your preferred style.

Vape Design
The LUXE XR Max is a medium-sized rectangular pod that is bigger than a usual MTL pod, kind of like a small vape mod. It is bigger because of the large battery and high power it has. It feels strong and well-made.
The front part has a clear cover so you can see the chip and the lights inside. I think it looks cool. Unlike the old version, the XR MAX has colors all over, except for the front and back panels. It comes in seven colors. Mine is gray, and it looks both classic and modern.
There are three buttons on it. The main button is above the screen, and it works as the fire button, on/off button, and menu button. Below the screen, there are touch buttons with up and down arrows. You need to press the buttons to use it; it doesn’t have an auto-draw feature.
The screen is simple and black and white. It shows the wattage, a puff counter and a battery meter with percentage. Overall, it is a strong and nice-looking device.
Using Guide
The LUXE XR Max is a special pod system made for DL vaping but you can use it for MTL vaping if you have the right coils (which are not included in the package).
Using it is easy:
- Click the fire button 5 times to turn it on and off.
- Click it four times to go to the menu.
- Click it three times to change the wattage. In smart mode, it only lets you pick the best wattage for the coils.
There is a slider on the side to switch between MTL and DL vaping. My device came with one pod (the XR DL pod) but VAPORESSO says there should be an MTL pod in the kit too. Hopefully, the ones in the stores will have it.
Filling the pod is simple. It is magnetic and pops in and out easily. It is not too tight but the magnets hold it well. To fill it, take out the pod and remove the little black plug at the bottom to find the fill hole.
The pod is mostly clear but it is hard to see the juice level because of the dark tint. I am not sure why they do that because clear pods are much easier to use.
But overall, except for the dark pods, I am really happy with the device.
Performance
The performance of the coil is really important for a vape device. I have tried many different coils and I like the MTL coils the best. This device comes with two coil options for DL vaping: a 0.4-ohm coil (26-32 watts) and a 0.2-ohm coil (45-60 watts). Both are mesh coils.
For me, low-power DL coils around 30 watts do not feel strong enough but that is just my opinion. If you like vaping at these wattages, the 0.4-ohm coil does a good job as a small DL vape.
I tested the 0.2-ohm coil and it worked best at around 55 watts. It gives good flavor and lasts a long time for a pre-made DL coil. However, after trying many coils, I think the best vape comes from the MTL pod with the 0.8 and 1.2-ohm mesh coils which are not included but can be used with this device.
About Battery Life
The XR MAX Pod has a much bigger battery than the original. For MTL vaping, it can last all day without needing a charge. But for DL vaping, you might need to charge it during the day.
The battery is 2800 mAh, and it charges at 2A. It uses a USB-C port for charging, which is at the bottom so you have to lay it down while it charges. I prefer devices that can stand up while charging but it is not a big problem.
I tested the charging, and the highest rate I got was 1.47A. It is a bit less than they said. Charging takes about 90 minutes, which is not super fast but the battery is bigger than most pod vapes.
The usable battery is around 2100 mAh so it is a bit less than what they said. Most devices are overrated by 20% but this one is about 25%. I’d expect it to be rated at 2500 mAh at most. You can vape while it is charging, which is good.
The battery meter on the screen shows a percentage and tells you how long until it is fully charged, which is really nice.
Last Words
Overall, Vaporesso did a great job with the XR Max. It has a much bigger battery and enough power for a good DL vape, making it a nice portable device that is not too big. You can also get a good MTL vape if you buy the MTL pod and coils.
