Get ready to dive into my review of VooPoo’s latest pod system, the ARGUS G2. This nifty device hit the market alongside its sibling, the ARGUS P2. VooPoo has truly outdone themselves with the ARGUS line known for its impressive features and interchangeable coils. They have always been a reliable choice but let’s see if the G2 lives up to the reputation.

Unlike the square-shaped P2, the ARGUS G2 boasts a classic stick design. It comes equipped with a powerful 1000 mAh internal battery and includes the latest pods with a generous 3 mL capacity. There are also 2 mL pods available for purchase separately. Just like the P2, the G2 is perfect for MTL (Mouth-to-Lung) or restricted DL (Direct-Lung) vaping with its included coils.

Vape Design

The ARGUS G2 and P2 may look different in shape but the G2 stands out with its cool design. It has a big 0.96-inch color screen with LEDs that make it look more like a full mod. The right side has an air adjustment slider, while the left side has a USB-C port and a button to control the device. The screen shows everything you need: power setting, puff counter, coil resistance, battery percentage, and mode. ARGUS G2 vape each mode has a fun theme.

It comes in 8 different colors. The aurora purple fades in color, while the others are solid. The ARGUS brand logo is actually metallic and comes in different colors. The back panel designs are unique, like the space gray one with a shiny finish and a checkered spiral pattern. The finish is durable and doesn’t chip. Overall, the G2 has a simple but awesome design with some nice features.

Using Guide

The ARGUS G2 is a bit more advanced but it is still pretty simple to use. You need to set the wattage and it has some features that make it special. Mostly, it is for MTL (Mouth-to-Lung) vaping but you can use the 0.4-ohm coil for restricted DL (Direct Lung) vaping under 30 watts. The G2’s button does everything, including firing the device.

Two clicks open a menu to switch between Smart, Super, and Eco modes. Click to cycle through the modes and hold to confirm. Super mode is like a hard preheat, Smart is normal, and Eco saves power. Five clicks bring up a menu to power off, reset the puff counter, lock the device, and turn the LED lights on or off. To adjust the wattage, click four times, then tap or hold the button to set it. Once it’s set, wait a few seconds for it to lock in.

The G2 comes with 3 mL pods, which are side-fill (though labeled as top-fill by VOOPOO) and a bit tinted. Overall, it is easy to use with some cool features.

Vape Performance

The G2 and P2 pods have an updated top-fill design that vapes better and lasts longer than the old bottom-fill pods. VOOPOO says they are leak-resistant, and I did not have any leak issues. The air slider on the right lets you adjust the draw from restricted DL to solid MTL. I like the loose MTL setting at about halfway on the slider, up to 20 watts in Smart/Eco modes.

The 3 mL pods work just like the 2 mL pods from the ARGUS P2. They perform well, last long, and make the device work really great.

About Battery Life

Battery life on the G2 depends on how much you vape. It is advertised to last three days, but that is for light use. For heavy users like me, the focus is more on battery capacity and charging speed.

The internal battery is 1000 mAh, slightly less than the P2. It charges at 5V/2A using a USB-C port on the left side. I expected around 800 mAh and a charge rate of 1.6A. My tests showed a max charge rate of 1.92A, with a charging time of about 30 minutes. The usable battery capacity was around 850 mAh, which fits my expectations.

The G2 also has passthrough vaping, which is great. I am pleased with the charging and battery specs overall.

Last Words

Overall, the G2 is a great pod system. I personally prefer the P2 because of its shape, extra 100 mAh battery, and the button that does not fire the device. But the G2 has a fantastic screen, and if you like stick-style pod vapes, it is one of the best. It really depends on what you like. Both are excellent devices with awesome pods so you can not go wrong with either.
