Voopoo Drag Q Review 2025

I recently got my hands on the Voopoo Drag Q and let’s just say it caught me by surprise. When I was first asked to review it, I expected yet another Direct Lung (DL) pod mod with a flashy color screen and maybe some new coils. But what arrived at my doorstep was something entirely different and a pleasant surprise.
The Drag Q is a Mouth-to-Lung (MTL) first All-In-One (AIO) device that resembles a mini box mod kit. It is equipped with a 1250 mAh battery and can fire up to 25 watts depending on the coil. The device is powered by the renowned GENE chipset but what really sets it apart are its innovative features. The most notable of these is the graduated ring, which automatically adjusts the wattage and airflow for each coil, something I have never seen before.
Voopoo has certainly put some intriguing ideas into this device but the big question is: do they work well in practice? Read on to find out.
Voopoo Drag Q
The DRAG Q Pod Kit from VooPoo is a cool vape device that promises a smooth vaping experience. It has a 1250mAh battery that can go up to 25 watts, giving you a range between 8W to 25W. One unique feature is the lune-shaped air inlet on top, which prevents blockage while you hold it. There is also a side light bar that shows you the battery and power levels in real-time.
The DRAG Q Pod Kit uses VooPoo’s special ITO technology and works well with the ITO-X Pod. The pod can hold up to 3.5ml of eLiquid and has a stainless steel base. The top-fill port makes refilling tidy and easy. It is compatible with ITO coils, especially the 1.2ohm ITO-M3 Mesh Coil and the 0.5ohm ITO-M0 Mesh Coil. This means it can be used for both Mouth-to-Lung (MTL) and Restricted Direct Lung (RDL) vaping styles.
The kit features the GENE chip, ensuring excellent and reliable pertricky preset settingsformance. It also comes with multiple safety protections to make it safer to use. The DRAG Q Pod system is available in six impressive color combinations.

Vape Design
The Drag Q is built really well and feels great to hold. It is got a nice paint job and a leather back that makes it look and feel good. The tank is mostly plastic but has a metal top that makes it seem tougher.
The design might not be everyone’s favorite but I like it. The long LED light on it looks kind of weird, though. Everything else looks nice and is well-made, including the rubber bottom, which makes it feel strong and durable.
There is no screen and only one button on the Drag Q. One cool thing is the dial under the pod which adjusts both airflow and wattage at the same time. Another interesting feature is the ball bearings at the bottom of the tank that keep it securely in place. The pod is tinted black on the black unit and clear on the silver one so you can see how much juice is left.
The device has a good weight to it—not too heavy, not too light, and feels solid. The mouthpiece is mostly for MTL vaping but I wish it was a 510 mouthpiece or they included an extra one because those can get lost easily.
Using Guide
The Drag Q is easy to use if you like the preset settings but it gets tricky if you want to adjust things. Here’s how to operate it:
- Turn the tank cap a little bit to remove it.
- Fill the tank using the marked hole (the other hole is for air).
- Wait five minutes for the cotton to soak up the juice.
- Click the button 5 times to turn the device on or off.
- Press the button or just inhale to vape.
- If you do not use the button for five minutes, it will turn off but you can still inhale to vape.
- To turn the button back on, click the fire button three times or just inhale.
- Turn the dial to adjust wattage and airflow together.
- Press the button while turning the dial to adjust airflow without changing wattage.
The device automatically recognizes the coils and sets wattage and airflow. Turning the dial affects both but pressing the button while turning only changes airflow. Some people, like me, find this feature a bit confusing and wish there was more feedback on adjustments.
To replace a coil, take the tank off, use your fingernails to pull the coil out, and make sure the new coil’s flat sides align with the hole’s flat sides. Push it in, and you are ready to go.
Performance

Here is where the Drag Q gets a bit tricky. It is mainly designed for mouth-to-lung (MTL) vaping with its narrow mouthpiece and Voopoo’s recommendation to use nicotine salts. The device has a 3.5 mL tank and a 1250 mAh battery making it too delicate for sub ohm vaping. Unfortunately, even after adjusting the power and airflow, I did not love the MTL experience.
The package comes with two coils: the 1.2-ohm ITO-M3 and the 0.5-ohm ITO-M0. The 1.2-ohm coil initially had a cardboard-like flavor that went away after a tank. However, I could not find a good airflow/power combo with my 7 mg regular nicotine juice and it felt weak. It got better with 25 mg salt juice but I still missed the warmth and throat hit.
The 0.5-ohm coil was much better, providing a warmer vape and even allowing some direct lung (DL) vaping at the highest power/airflow setting. Although the throat hit with 7 mg regular juice wasn’t great, it was better than the 1.2-ohm coil, and the flavor was much improved. The 25 mg salt juice felt too strong so 20 mg salt might be ideal. This coil also had a bit of a weird flavor initially but it disappeared quickly.
It is worth noting that the Drag Q’s performance drops when the battery level does. This is not very noticeable at green and blue levels but at the red level, I experienced a bit of flooding due to low power output, especially with the 1.2-ohm coil.

About Battery Life
The Drag Q has a 1250 mAh battery, which is pretty good for its size. However, the battery life is not as long as I expected. I used around 2.5 mL of juice on both coils, though the vape felt weak for the last 0.5 mL on the 1.2-ohm coil so I expected it to last longer.
You can charge it quickly, in about 35-40 minutes, with a 2A charger using the Type-C port at the bottom of the device. The LED bar lights up when you vape, showing different colors for battery levels: green for 60 to 100%, blue for 30 to 60%, and red for 0 to 30%. The Drag Q also supports pass-thru vaping, which means you can use it while it is charging.
Last Words
I have mixed feelings about the Drag Q. It has a lot of cool features, but they might make things a bit complicated.
One thing I like is the smart tech that recognizes the coils and adjusts the power based on airflow. But, it would be better if changing power and airflow separately was easier or if there was more detailed feedback.
I could not find my perfect setting with the Drag Q, though the 0.5-ohm coil came close. The device is well-made and feels nice to hold. If you like using strong nicotine salts or enjoy a loose mouth-to-lung (MTL) vape, it might be a good fit for you.
