VooPoo VMate E2 Review 2025

Hey everyone! Today, I am excited to talk about the latest beginner-friendly pod system from VOOPOO—the VMate E2. This new device is an upgraded version of the classic VMate E, which came out over two years ago.
The VMate E2 comes with some cool improvements like the new 3 mL top fill pods that now have a 0.4-ohm option. It also has a magnetic dust cap, a colorful battery life display, faster charging, longer battery life, and a higher wattage output. Plus, the dual leather panel design makes it look really stylish.
VOOPOO has been releasing some awesome pod vapes lately, like the VMate i2. It is been a while since I tried one so let’s see how the VMate E2 stacks up against my favorite daily vape and if I would recommend it.
VooPoo VMate E2
The VooPoo VMate E2 is the latest addition to the VMate family. It has some great upgrades and a stylish double leather panel design. The VMate E2 has a high-capacity battery with 30W maximum power, a colorful sidebar, and a battery life indicator. It also features a 3ml VMate pod cartridge with 0.4ohm and 0.7ohm coils and a top-fill system.
This means you can enjoy both MTL (mouth-to-lung) and DTL (direct-to-lung) vaping styles. The device has a magnetic dust cap to keep dust and dirt away. It charges faster than previous models. The VooPoo VMate E2 Pod Kit is easy to use, has safety protections, and comes in eight different colors.

Vape Design
When I first got the VMATE E2, I thought, Wow, this is heavy for a pod vape! I am used to the lighter Caliburn A3, so this felt more like a flower vape, similar to the latest PAX vapes. It weighs 92.2 grams.
The extra weight is because it has a 1500 mAh battery, making it feel sturdy and well-built. It fits nicely in my hand, with just the mouthpiece sticking out, which is great for stealth vaping.
The VMATE E2 is made of zinc alloy with leather panels, but I’m not sure if it is real leather. I got the purple lavender version, which looks nice but I’d prefer black or brown leather if I were to buy another one.
There are no buttons, just a hidden display with a dynamic light bar that changes colors while vaping and shows a green bar when charging or inserting a pod. The display also shows the battery percentage. The dust cap, held by strong magnets, keeps dust and dirt away from the coil, helping the pod last longer.
Other cool design features include subtle branding on the leather panels and a USB-C port on the bottom. The oval-shaped airflow controller is similar to the pod’s design. The device has an elegant, modern look with rounded edges but it can tip over easily when standing up.
Using Guide
Using the VMATE E2 is really easy. It is draw-activated so there are no buttons or menus. You can switch between MTL (mouth-to-lung) and RDL (direct-to-lung) draws by sliding the airflow controller. Slide it left to tighten the airflow and right to loosen it.
You do not need to take out the pod to fill it. Just use your nail to open the rubber seal, fill it with the bottle tip, and then close the seal again. Let the pod sit for at least five minutes to soak up the e-liquid.
The pods click into the device, even though they have magnetic contacts. You can still use the device if the pod isn’t clicked in all the way but it works best when it is. Taking the pod out can be a bit hard especially if you have weak fingers or sweaty hands. Also, remember to remove the sticker on the bottom of the pod before using it.

VooPoo VMate E2 Performance

I tried both pods to see how the VMATE E2 works. I used 25 mg nic salt for the 0.7-ohm pod and 6 mg freebase liquid for the 0.4-ohm pod. It felt nostalgic to vape freebase liquid again since I usually use high nic pods.
The clouds from the 0.4-ohm pod were not the best but they were denser and bigger than what I am used to. The flavor was clean and tasted just like my favorite liquid, Zenith Orion. Even after a week, the flavor is still fresh.
I used the 0.7-ohm pod more and after two weeks the flavor got a bit muted but it’s still working well. I think I will get another week out of it. I noticed an improvement from an old VOOPOO Argus Air review where I got a plastic taste but these new VMATE pods don’t have that.
I was surprised at how fast I was using up the liquid. I usually refill my 2 mL pods once or twice a day but with the VMATE E2, I am refilling twice a day. The VMATE pods have a 3 mL capacity so I am not sure where all the extra juice is going.
No major issues like leaking, spitback, or gurgling. The pods are tinted but easy to check. The mouthpiece can get warm from chain vaping, especially with the 0.4-ohm pod but it is not too bad.
One strange thing I noticed is a buzzing sound when vaping with headphones on. It might be related to the GENE chipset but it is not very noticeable.
About Battery Life
The VMATE E2 took a bit longer to charge than I expected. It took 52.5 minutes to fully charge from 0%, which is more than the advertised 40 minutes but still good for its 1500 mAh battery. I got it to 90% in about 40 minutes.
With the 0.7-ohm pods, I could refill about 2.5 times (7.5 mL) on a full charge. With the 0.4-ohm pods, it did not last as long but I still made it through a whole day with some power left for a morning puff. No issues with battery life.
I did notice that the battery went from 10% to 0% suddenly after my last puff. The battery life bar stays green and doesn’t change with the percentage. I thought it would have passthrough charging, but it doesn’t. I am not sure why VOOPOO did not include this feature since the i2 had it.
Last Words
The VMATE E2 is a great pod system that is super easy to use. It does not have any complicated features so it is perfect for beginners or anyone who wants something simple. The pods give good flavor and last a long time, and the airflow controller lets you choose your draw style. The battery is really big and the pods hold 3 mL of e-liquid, which is a lot.
The device feels sturdy and looks elegant, especially with its little cap. It is a simple but smart idea that I hope more vapes use. VOOPOO seems to have listened to feedback from previous reviews, adding a second pod, a battery percentage display, and faster charging—kudos to them.
I did find some cons but none were deal breakers. The only big issue is that it does not have passthrough charging, which is surprising for 2025. Luckily, it charges quickly. I’d recommend it to beginners looking for a refillable vape with some style. There is room for improvement but it still offers a solid vape experience.
